MARSHS LIBRARY COMPETITION

What is a Jormungand or Midgard Serpent? Jormungand (or Midgard Serpent) comes from Norse mythology and is a serpent that lives in the sea, and grows so big that he encircles the earth and is so long that he has swallowed his own tail.

Task: Design a Jormungand, drawing the whole head and body, but it must be eating its own tail! It doesn't have to be a neat circle like the one below, and you can include the earth too if you like.

Rules: Your design must be done on A4 sized paper (landscape or portrait) and you can use colour if you wish, but this is not essential.

Awards: Marsh's will judge your designs for creativity, design & detail and will award prizes! You'll get to see the results when you come over to visit the library and see your work exhibited!

Date: Your entries need to be sent to Marshs Library, St. Patrick's Close, Dublin 8 by the end of Monday 20th February, not long! Good Luck!
