Nobel prize winner, Seamus Heaney has won the Irish Times Poetry Now Award for Human Chain,his 12th collection of poems.
Heaney also won the award for District and Circle , his previous collection, published in 2006. Other past winners include Sinead Morrissey for Through the Square Window, Derek Mahon, twice, for Life on Earth and for Harbour Lights , Harry Clifton for Secular Eden: Paris Notebooks 1994-2004, and Dorothy Molloy, who won posthumously in the first year of the prize for her debut collection Hare Soup.
