Louise Nealon

 Louise Nealon was born in 1991 and grew up on a dairy farm in County Kildare. She studied English literature in Trinity College Dublin, before completing a Masters in creative writing at Queen’s University Belfast. In 2017, she won the Seán Ó Faoláin International Short Story Competition for her story What Feminism Is. 

Her debut novel, Snowflake, was published in 2021. It won the Newcomer of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards and was selected as the One Dublin One Book title in 2024. It has been translated into several languages including German, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Croatian, Slovakian and Chinese. Her short story ‘What Feminism Is,’ is currently being adapted into a short film by Pure Divilment Pictures.

Her second novel, Everything that is Beautiful, was released in 2026.
