Applications open for Poetry Ireland's Introductions / Céadlínte programme

Applications are now open for Poetry Ireland's Introductions / Céadlínte Programme 2026, a bilingual programme supporting poets in the early stages of their careers who are writing in English or Irish.

This year's programme will be selected by Victoria Kennefick (Introductions) and Aifric Mac Aodha (Céadlínte). Participants will take part in workshops focused on developing their form and craft, performing poetry in public and more.

The weekend workshops will take place in Dublin on Friday September 4th and Saturday September 5th.

This year’s programme tutors include Victoria Kennefick, Aifric Mac Aodha, and Sean Borodale with more to be announced.

Poets will also have the opportunity to have work published in a Poetry Ireland e-book. The programme concludes with public readings in Dublin in November to coincide with the e-book launch.

Applicants should be early-career poets living on the island of Ireland, ideally with work published in established journals or magazines and working towards a first collection. There is a minimum age of 18, but no upper age limit. Successful applicants must be available to attend both the September workshops and the November readings in Dublin.
