About the fellowship:
This fellowship is part of State Library Victoria's broader Fellowships Program and sits within the Research Fellowships stream. It aims to strengthen Melbourne's standing as a UNESCO City of Literature, foster interdisciplinary creative practice and research, promote exchange between Melbourne and other Cities of Literature globally, and showcase the State Library and its collections internationally.
Fellowship period: 1 August 2026 – 30 June 2027 (equivalent of 3 months, which can be split)
What fellows receive
All fellowships and residencies receive:
- $15,000 funding, based on approximately 3 months of work at the Library.
This can be completed as one continuous block or broken up over the year. - Dedicated desk space at the Library for 12 months, regardless of how the fellowship or residency period is structured.
- Access to State Library Victoria’s collections, staff expertise and research support.
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years or over.
- Not have held a State Library Victoria fellowship previously.
- Must be based in, and applying from, another UNESCO City of Literature internationally
