Taking place in Bewleys Café on the 29th of April, 'Dublin by Night' took place as part of the One Dublin One Book series for the anthology, Dublin, written in our hearts. Authors Sarah Gilmartin, Roisin Kiberd, Thomas Morris were in conversation with writer and editor James Hudson to discuss how their writing captures Dublin by night in its many guises; from the pressurised world of high-end hospitality and the raucous pub scene, to the spaces people frequent by night to escape the anxieties of daytime. In all their writing, characters feel the need to conform, to belong and to find connection, even as they find themselves disconnected and disillusioned. The sun goes down but the city never sleeps.
