Emerging Writers Festival and Dublin City of Literature
14th July 2025

Are you an emerging writer who would like to connect with emerging writers in another City of Literature? We have just the thing for you!
Emerging Writers Festival and Dublin City of Literature are partnering on PenPals, a virtual meeting space. Ten writers from Melbourne and ten writers from Dublin will meet over four sessions in a guided virtual room during September, as part of Emerging Writers Festival.
The programme will be hosted by poet and editor Panda Wong, author of ‘angel wings dumpster fire’, co-editor of Best of Australian Poems 2023 and the curator of Darebin Arts’ inSITU writing programme in 2025. During this workshop series, writers will make new connections, discover more about each other's Cities of Literature, share and workshop their writing together.
The PenPals sessions will run on 11, 13, 15, 17 September (11am Dublin time, 8pm Melbourne time (AEST)) 2025.
This will be a free opportunity for successful applicants to connect with their international peers and receive constructive feedback in a guided environment.
Closes 14th of July ay 9pm (AET)
Successful participants will be notified in late July 2025.
