			World of Christine Falls

As part of One Dublin One Book 2026, Historian in Residence Elizabeth Kehoe will give a talk exploring the times, places, and social world in which Christine Falls is set.

This event will delve into the Dublin Banville evokes — its institutions, silences, class structures, and moral codes — offering historical context that deepens our understanding of the novel.

Attendees are warmly encouraged to read the book in advance, as the talk is designed to open up a shared discussion and conversation about the novel, its themes, and the Ireland it reflects.

A chance to read differently, think historically, and talk together.

Photography will take place at this event for promotional use by Dublin City Libraries and the One Dublin One Book programme. Photographs may be used as publicity material by Dublin City Libraries and Dublin UNESCO City of Literature, to include social media, print media and digital media and/or in newsletters, programmes, on radio and TV, on websites or for public display.
