Walking tour of Quirke’s Dublin

To help celebrate the novel John Banville's Christine Falls, the selection for the 2026 One Dublin One Book initiative, join local historian Arran Henderson, of Dublin Decoded tours, for a guided walking tour, starting from Pearse Street Library. 

Arran’s walk will explore the area of Dublin inhabited by the book’s main protagonist, Quirke, and where most of the events and action of Banville’s novel play out.   

Our tour will reveal many of the hidden corners of history, and some of the half-forgotten stories, that make this quarter of Dublin so unique.

Photography will take place at this event for promotional use by Dublin City Libraries and the One Dublin One Book programme. Photographs may be used as publicity material by Dublin City Libraries and Dublin UNESCO City of Literature, to include social media, print media and digital media and/or in newsletters, programmes, on radio and TV, on websites or for public display.
